Olympic Torch Component
Design and development of the specialized tooling required for the manufacturing of a key structural component of the Brazil 2016 Olympic torch.
The challenge
The project required the creation of a component with complex geometry for the internal structure of the Rio 2016 torch. The main challenge was to design a manufacturing tool that guaranteed millimeter precision, meeting the strict safety and aesthetic standards required by the International Olympic Committee.
The solution
In 2015, the comprehensive design of the necessary production tooling was carried out. Using advanced engineering software, a solution was modeled to allow efficient manufacturing of the component, optimizing cycle times and ensuring the technical repeatability required for a world-scale event.
