Development of low-pressure injection molds for irregular geometries
Implementation of a soft mold system for plastic injection in components without strict geometries, such as decorative figures or jewelry.
The challenge
The main challenge was to develop a production process that allowed plastic injection using soft molds for geometries that do not require strict dimensional definition. The goal was to experiment with various materials and overmolding techniques for components with irregular or artistic shapes.
The solution
A low-pressure injection system using soft molds was successfully developed. The process included extensive experimentation with materials such as PP, PA6, and ABS, in addition to integrating overmolding elements of electrical components within the standard plastic injection flow.
Results
- Validation of the use of soft molds for the injection of figures and decorative elements.
- Proven compatibility with technical materials such as PP, PA6, and ABS.
- Successful integration of electrical components through overmolding in low-pressure molds.
